Holgates offer an outstanding selection of options for dog-friendly holidays in Lancashire with a choice of accommodation types to suit every solo traveller, couple or family taking a break with their furry friend.
With miles of sandy beaches for salty paws, high hill moorscapes for bounding unleashed, long-distance trails for walkies and dog-friendly pubs aplenty, the Red Rose County has so much to offer.
As locations for dog-friendly holidays go, Holgates takes some beating.
The joy of a caravan holiday with a dog is the unique flexibility that it affords. Just open the door and you and your pal have access to instant fresh air, lots of green space and the opportunity for untold adventures plus they might even find a chum in the pitch next door.
Holgates has four parks with pitches for touring caravans that welcome dogs. Choose from Silverdale, Bay View, Hollins Farm or Ribble Valley. Our sites have exercise areas for that early morning frolic or a lazy lollop before bed.
Silverdale and Hollins Farm are close to each other in the Silverdale and Arnside Area of Natural Beauty (AONB). The immediate and impossible to resist attraction for every holidaying dog owner is the proximity of both to the near-uninterrupted expanses of coastline that extend from Arnside beach right down to the coast near Carnforth. You will also find our Bay View park near Carnforth which offers direct access to the coastal path. Dogs are permitted on many of the sandy spots, including Arnside Beach and at most stretches right down to Half Moon Bay at Heysham to the south.
If it’s a pampered pooch – with parents – seeking a dog-friendly luxury holiday cottage, then Holgates’ selection will surpass all of your expectations.
With dog-friendly holiday cottages around Arnside, Yealand and Silverdale, we offer luxury accommodation in your own private retreat near this stunning stretch of the Lancashire coastline. Each is a stone’s throw from all this is on offer from the South Lakes and Morecambe Bay.
A little further inland at the tranquil village of Yealand Redmayne, our dog-friendly holiday cottage Hillberry has you right in the heart of the picture-postcard walking country. Take to the summit of Arnside Knott or discover Beetham, with its fairy steps, your pooch will be in doggy heaven!
With a choice of holiday parks, Holgates offer dog-friendly holiday lodges, and dog-friendly caravan breaks too! Choose from parks that offer a multitude of amenities and entertainment options or quieter sites to suit every holiday wishlist and budget.
Each of our dog-friendly holiday parks welcomes guests with pets. We also get great feedback from owners who have chosen a dog-friendly holiday park at our Bay View location. This fabulous site right on the coast even has its own restaurant area in which you can dine with your doggy.
If you’re venturing further out from our holiday parks, there’s a remarkable number of dog-friendly pubs and places to eat around Arnside and Silverdale and beyond. On the promenade and in the charming centre of Arnside, you’ll find refreshment spots like the Old Bakehouse, Wayside Cafe, The Albion and Ye Olde Fighting Cocks that consistently get great reviews for the welcome they afford those on two and four legs. You won’t always be able to perch pup at a table in their restaurant areas, but the joy of a day out with the dog is always being seated outside enjoying a nibble in the sea air anyway.
Whether your camping, touring, or holidaying in a motorhome we welcome dogs. Spend a few days relaxing in the peaceful nature of Holgates and admire the surrounding beauty of the parks while spending some quality time with your pet. You can find Holgates Walking Maps in our reception areas that will show you amazing walks around our sites.
We know that dogs are part of the family which is why you should bring them along on your holidays. If you own your own holiday home or bring your own tourer, your well-behaved dog is more than welcome to stay with you as well! Dogs are allowed across all of our parks, although they are not allowed in any of our eating establishments or inside buildings. With new sights and smells to discover, your dog is likely to get excited and want to go explore everything! We don’t discourage this but ask that you keep him or her on a lead at all times. We also ask that you pick up after your pets.
